The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has taken a monumental step towards simplifying the business landscape in India through its integration with the National Single Window System (NSWS). This move signals a commitment to enhancing the ease of doing business in the country, particularly for incorporation of companies and Limited Liability Partnership (LLP).

  •  What is NSWS? : It consolidates permissions and approvals from various central and state government agencies, eliminating the tedious task of running through diverse departments. It essentially reduces the bureaucratic burden for businesses, saving them enough time and resources
  • MCA-NSWS Integration: The incorporation forms for the companies and LLP can now be filed either on the MCA21 portal or NSWS portal, with each portal offering intuitive interfaces and phase-wised guidance. The distinctiveness of the MCA21 portal and the NSWS portal from each other is as follows:

Ease of Use:
It is familiar for seasoned users accustomed to previous MCA platforms, however new users may find it slightly complex.
It is designed for broader audience, with a highly intuitive and userfriendly interface. Also, it provides phased-wised guidance and multilingual support.
Application Process:
It requires separate filings for registration and name reservation
It offers composite application feature, which allows simultaneous filing for name reservation, incorporation and PAN/TAN applications.
Other Approvals:
It is restricted to incorporation of companies and LLP. For, additional clearances, separate applications need to be filed through different portals
It integrates with various agencies for approvals like DIN allotment, bank account opening and commencement of business certificates. However, the complete coverage is still under development
Fees and Charges:
It charges separate fees for registration, name reservation and other services.
It charges a consolidated fees for composite application, which is slightly lower than the fees charged on MCA21.
Transparency and Tracking:
It provides basic application status updates on the portal.
It offers real-time status updates, detailed communication history and forms for enhanced transparency
Mobile Accessibility:
It is not optimized for mobile devices.
It is fully functional on mobile devices and has user-friendly interface.
  •  Registration Process on NSWS :
    a. Log in on the NSWS website and click on ‘Sign Up Now’.
    b. Provide the email id and mobile number and verify with the One-Time Password (OTP).
    c. Fill the Common Registration Form.
    d. Prepare necessary documents, as may be required.
    e. Obtain a Class 2 or 3 DSC for authorized signatories to sign and submits documents online.
    f. Enter the OTP sent to the registered mobile number for account activation.
    g. Pay applicable registration fees

SGT Takeaway: Consolidation of all services under one portal and facilitation of a stream-lined and time-effective process will promote the incorporation of new-companies through NSWS. This integration aims at thriving a fostering business ecosystem in India.
